What is AWANA?
AWANA stands for “Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed”, which comes from 2 Timothy 2:15 which says, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.”
AWANA is for children ages 3 to 6th grade (CBC also has a youth group for older children). There are 3 different clubs.
- Cubbies (3 - 5 years)
- Sparks (K-2nd grade)
- T&T (3rd-6th grade)
The goal of AWANA is to help children come to KNOW God and GROW in their walk with God through learning from the Bible. A normal AWANA evening consists of 3 parts:
- Handbook time: Children get the opportunity to memorize key verses from the Bible
- Game time: High energy group games.
- Counsel time (large group): Singing, Bible lessons, skits, object lessons all to teach about God and His Word
There is NO cost to you. CBC views it as a privilege to work with your children and covers the cost of your child’s handbook, AWANA uniform and awards.
